Dinner at a Private Loft on Tiberina Island

Meet in the late afternoon in a location in the city center in Rome for a fun evening learning about the culinary traditions of the Romans with a cooking demonstration in a private Loft with an Italian chef immersing yourself in a historic property, followed by dinner located on Rome’s Tiberina Island.

DAY 3:

Drive to Tuscany with a stop in Civita di Bagnoregio

After breakfast depart to Tuscany for your countryside experience. Driving up the northern tip of the region Lazio you will have the opportunity to stop by the hidden village of Civita di Bagnoregio, a hilltop village in central Italy. It’s accessed via a pedestrian bridge from the nearby ticket office in Bagnoregio village. The Porta Santa Maria gateway was built by the Etruscans. Founded in the 7th century, the Romanesque San Donato Church sits in the main square. After visiting the city center, a welcome lunch will be served in one of the local typical trattorias serving authentic regional specialties and wines. In the afternoon drive through the hills of Tuscany to reach your Hotel. After check in meet for a welcome drink followed by dinner.

DAY 4:

Exploring Siena and Chianti

Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to the City of Siena, a treasure trove of historical, artistic, religious and cultural riches all to be discovered. The best way to do it is on foot, admiring the changes to the town over the centuries and enjoying the spectacular scenery and curious particulars. With an authorized guide you will be able to appreciate the major tourist attractions like Piazza del Campo, the true heart of the town, the Palazzo Comunale (Town Hall), the Cathedral and the majestic Basilica of San Domenico. The walk continues with a visit to the Cathedral that preserves the treasures of artists like Nicola Pisano, Duccio di Buoninsegna, Donatello, Pinturicchio and Gianlorenzo Bernini besides its marvelous marble floor, which is a unique example in the history of art.

After lunch we will depart on a panoramic road and you can admire the vineyards and olive groves in the heart of the Chianti region, along the way you can also admire the ancient fortified hamlet of Monteriggioni, a small jewel built during the thirteenth century and embraced by its still intact walls. We will arrive in the Chianti area at the site of one of the local producers. When you reach the estate surrounded by vineyards, you will receive the traditional welcome reserved by all Tuscans to their guests and will be taken to a private tour the historical cellars. You will find out some of the secrets of wine making and, sitting comfortably at tables laid with wine-glasses, you will be introduced to a variety of prestigious wines during your dinner

DAY 5:

A Day at Your Leisure

DAY 6:

A Day in Florence

After breakfast today travel to Florence for a full day experience. Upon arrival in Florence you will visit the local Market, learn about the traditions of the Florentine cuisine, the ingredients used and mingle with locals shopping for their daily meal. At the end after the walk you will reach the indoor Market where a local chef will do a cooking demonstration with the preparation of a selection of local signature dishes. Have lunch with a wine tasting.

After lunch you will meet your local guide for a walking tour and visit to the Accademia (entrance fee included.) The tour proceeds with a walking tour including the outdoor guided visit of San Lorenzo Church and the Cathedral. Your private tour continues to the old city center for a visit to the Franciscan Church of Santa Croce (exterior), the famous Piazza Signoria, where your private guide is pleased to show you the imposing Palazzo Vecchio (exterior) and the beautiful Loggia del Lanzi.

DAY 7:

A Day in Val D’Orcia with at Tasting of the Vino Nobile of Montelpuciano, Pienza and Montalcino and a Cheese Tasting

After breakfast we depart to the Val D’Orcia, starting from Montepulciano, a medieval town of rare beauty highly recommended visiting in Tuscany. The city, full of elegant Renaissance palaces, ancient churches, charming squares and hidden corners, boasts vast panoramas all over the wonderful Val d’Orcia and Val di Chiana valleys that surround it. Enjoy this morning with a walking tour of the town and a taste of the local wines with a light lunch in town.

Will continue to Pienza, a Renaissance treasure in the midst of the Val D’Orcia UNESCO World Heritage cultural landscape, whose broad hills and sprinkling of rustic farmhouses and picturesque villages have been an inspiration for many. This region is very rich in high quality local products such as the “pecorino” cheese of Pienza (a typical cheese made with sheep’s milk), genuine olive oil, and the gorgeous wine resulting from a long and ancient tradition, saffron, mushrooms, chestnuts, truffles, game and a lot of other specialties.

In the afternoon we will stop in the charming town of Montalcino, where we will have time to explore the town’s narrow winding streets filled with artisan food and wine shops. No visit in this area would be complete without a sample of this world famous wine while visiting a local Brunello winery. We can compare styles and techniques while learning more about this excellent wine. Dinner will be set in a local farm house producer of this wine.

Relax in the Tuscan Countryside

Morning at your leisure to relax and enjoy your day in the Tuscan countryside. In the late afternoon meeting for a farewell dinner paired with wines of the region in a local estate.

Departure to Rome in the late morning with a stop in Orvieto, walk around the town and have lunch in a local restaurant.
